They are on the second generation , Trinity, currently. First generation was Llano. Richland comes out early this year which is third generation. Kaveri comes out later this year, which is fourth generation. They are usually refreshed with a new generation once a year. AMDs workstation CPUs are called the Opteron series. They are usually refreshed with a new generation once a year. AMDs mainstream CPUs are called Vishera processors. They are the 2nd generation of this micro-architecture  Bulldozer was first generation. They plan to make 2 more generation of this micro-architecture: Steamroller and Excavator. Steamroller comes out this year; Excavator next.
