Intel processors
Hello. Now I will talk a little about Intel processors. Intel has 3 main types of processors: Workstation, mainstream, and mobile. the mobile processor's is the Atom series, the workstation processor's is the Xeon series, and the mainstream processor's is Ivy Bridge. Ivy Bridge processor's are the fourth generation in their Core i micro-architecture. First gen. was Nehalem, second gen. was Westmere, and third gen. was Sandy Bridge. Haswell, which releases this year, is going to be the fifth generation in the core i micro-architecture. It will be built on 14nm process compared to the 22nm process of Ivy bridge. Atom, the mobile line of processors, is in many mobile devices including the Chromebook. It is currently built on a 32nm process. Intel Xeon processors are processors for use in servers. There are no Ivy bridge based Xeon processors. Ivy bridge based Xeon processors are said to release this year.

AMD Processors
Hello, I will now talk about AMD processors. AMD has three main types of processors: Workstation, APUs, and Mainstream CPUs. The APUs are processors with a graphics card built in. They are on the second generation , Trinity, currently. First generation was Llano. Richland comes out early this year which is third generation. Kaveri comes out later this year, which is fourth generation. They are usually refreshed with a new generation once a year. AMDs workstation CPUs are called the Opteron series. They are usually refreshed with a new generation once a year. AMDs mainstream CPUs are called Vishera processors. They are the 2nd generation of this micro-architecture Bulldozer was first generation. They plan to make 2 more generation of this micro-architecture: Steamroller and Excavator. Steamroller comes out this year; Excavator next.
AMD Graphics Cards
Hi, today I will talk about AMD Graphics cards. AMD has two main graphics cards divisions: for Mainstream and for Workstations. The Workstation Graphics cards are the FirePro series and the mainstream graphics cards are the Radeon Series. They are currently on Radeon 7000 series cards. Their best card is a Radeon 7990 which can be purchased for $1000. This card is actually two GPUs put together. Their top workstation card is the FirePro W9000. They will release their new series of mainstream graphics card soon.

There are many different companies who manufacture 3D printers. For example, Makerbot: www.makerbot.com/, Solidoodle: www.solidoodle.com/, and 3D Systems: www.3dsystems.com/.Though there are many others, these are the most popular. Solidoodle sells the cheapest 3D printer, at only $500. MakerBot's 3D printers are more expensive, the Repicator 2X will set you back $2799. Filabot: filabot.com/, makes a device which can turn plastic in 3D printer ready filaments. These companies comeo out with a new 3D printer at least once a year, usually during CES in January.
There has been many amazing products created by 3D printers. iPhone cases have been created like the iPhone phone case. Pieces connecting different kinds of toys have been made; for example a piece connecting a MEGAblock and a LEGO. Clothing and puzzles have been made with 3D printers. Even more important, fake organs and bones have been made with 3D printers. These are just a few of the amazing things made by 3D printers. Next, I will talk about some of the companies making these 3D printers.
3D Printing
Hello, I will now talk about 3D printing and it's effect on you. 3D printing is a revolutionary product. You can find a design and wait a few hours and there it is! You can make iPhone cases, little toys, almost anything you can think of that can be made of plastic. This technology has grown over the past decade with many new 3D printing companies releasing new printers each year. There is even a company which manufactures a machine which you put plastic in to make plastic able to be used in a 3D printer! But even with all the development there is still one main detriment to 3D printing: it costs much too expensive. Many 3D printer prices have risen not sunk. The cheapest 3D printer you can get is a Solidoodle 2 for $500. The plastic used in 3D printers is also expensive with 1 kg rolls costing $25. But the 3D printer is still a revolutionary product which I will be waiting for with excitement. Next I will talk about some products made by 3D printers!
